Knowledge Centre
    Knowledge Centre comprises Junior Knowledge Centre (Classes Nursery to U. Kg), Primary Knowledge Centre (Classes I- IV) and Middle School Knowledge Centre (Classes V- VIII). Knowledge Centre has been an integral part of the school since the school’s inception. It focuses on a holistic curriculum which not only addresses concerns related to academics, socio – emotional, physio – motor, speech and linguistic area but also in developing pre- vocational skills of the child to keep pace with the formal system of education. A team of professionals devises the same, suiting the child’s needs and ability to absorb and apply the information given to him/her. The junior and senior school learning centres persevere continuously so as to allow these gifted children to overcome challenges. Along with guiding them in their academics, they are also groomed in another quintessential aspect, which is imbibing the values of a good Sanskritian, and in turn a good Samaritan. This combination allows them to simultaneously excel in academics and co-curricular fields, which render them capable of fulfilling their goals.

  The centre provides training mainly through three media:


  1. Training students on CBSE patterns with exemptions


  2. Business Related Skills (Non-academic, Functional curriculum with pre-vocational skills)



  Other KnowledgeCentre work areas include:


  1. Remediation of the students from the mainstream who have undergone a formal diagnosis of Learning disability. They are helped to form a conceptual understanding related to subjects and other issues.


  2. Monitoring such students in their mainstream classes.


  3. Frequent Parent Teacher Meetings and counselling.


  4. Enabling the children to reach their potential through an Individualised Educational Programme which is subject to constant evaluation and revision.



    Skanda The School is child- centric but follows the system of inclusive education which means that the children are part of all the activities of the mainstream school. A team of well-experienced and qualified educators and Competent skill educators facilitate the working of the Knowledge Centre.The Skanda teaching squadrons form an expert team.

Secrets of Skanda Junior School

  • Open learning environment: We are studying in large classrooms with unique names which are connected to Digital boards for smaller group works.


  • Collaboration of 35 students: Classes include 35 students who work and study together in flexible groupings.


  • Support: Two assistant teachers and one resource teacher are there to assist, to teach and to support the students.


  • Cultural identity: In respect of Indian culture and religion, our teacher works closely with our students and teachers.


  • Individual timetables: Grade level group of students are divided into smaller groups to enable students’ individualized lessons. The beginnings and endings of the school days vary according to the class-level timetables.


  • Breaks: It is time to play and participate in games or just have a walk and talk with your friend!


  • Healthy lunch: Students are encouraged to bring a healthy lunch with them. The class teacher takes lunch with the students and teach them the value of food and table manners.


  • Slight amount of homework: The amount of homework must be reasonable for children to have time for playing, free reading, physical activities and friends and family!

PRACTICAL LEARNING PLAN
Information for Parents and Students: Learning is a partnership between teacher, student and caregiver. A successful learning environment is contingent upon the following:

• Ask Questions when they don’t understand.

• Navigate the technology independently.

• Are motivated learners and can work independently.

• Create an organized study environment with all materials ready for class before it begins.

• The students should be at all timeseated upright ready to learn, and remain engaged.


• Follow “in-person” classroom expectations.


• Problem-solve when something doesn’t quite go as planned


• If a student is absent from school, they have can coordinate with the teacher the next day.


• In the event that you do not have materials at home, as committed we are flexible in providing it.
